Announcement: Panel discussion “Protection of copyright and related rights – contemporary law as a stimulus to creative industry”

It is our pleasure to invite you to a panel discussion organized by Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and Public Policy Institute under the title "Protection of copyright and related rights - CONTEMPORARY LAW AS A STIMULUS TO CREATIVE INDUSTRY". Panel will be held on Monday, 2nd November 2015, beginning at 11 am in the Great Hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Resavska St. 15, Belgrade.

The main idea of the meeting stems from a need for modern and effective legal solutions in the field of copyright and related rights. Bearing in mind the fact that countries that fight against piracy with greatest success are also countries with the most successful economies, our goal is to encourage public dialogue in Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) concerning the Law on Copyright and Related Rights, and emphasize the importance of the contribution of activities based on copyright economy of Serbia.

Panel discussion consists of two thematic areas: session dedicated to the existing legal framework in Serbia, where the legislation in the field of copyright and related rights and contribution to the industry and the economy of Serbia will be discussed, and session dedicated to relation between rightholder and users and protection of intellectual property in digital age – where the application of regulations, legal and financial consequences of non-compliance with the law, Internet as a global market, digital economy and fight against piracy will be discussed.

Keynote speaker and moderator will be Secretary General of the Union of Discographers of Serbia Rodoljub Stojanović, while participants will be president of CCIS Marko Čadež, assistants of Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Nikola Tanić, PhD and prof. Branko Bugarski, PhD, assistant of Director of Serbia’s Intellectual Property Office Vladimir Marić, director of Serbian Music Authors’ Organization SOKOJ Aleksandar Kovačević, member of the board of directors of Organization of Phonogram Producers of Serbia OFPS Slobodan Nešović, member of the legal team of the Association of Independent Electronic Media ANEM Miloš Stojković, and librarian-advisor in National Library of Serbia Dragana Milunović, PhD.
