Memorandum of Understanding between the Centre for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan and the Public Policy Institute in Podgorica was signed today. The aim of the strategic cooperation between the two organizations will be on finding potential models for cooperation in the areas that are of key importance for both countries.
The Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM)is ranked among the top 10 governmental non-profit think tanks in Europe, and among top 150 in the world. SAM was founded in 2007 by the Decree of the President, Ilham Aliyev. SAM was established with the purpose of implementing the coordination of strategic studies carried out in Azerbaijan and also providing scientific-analytical information to high-ranking public administration bodies within the Government of Azerbaijan.
Next to Public Policy Institute, SAM also signed the Memorandum of Understanding with German Institute for International and Security Affairs (Berlin), London Information Network on Conflicts and State Building (London), The International Institute for Strategic Studies (London), Center for Strategic and International Studies (Washington, DC), Central Asia-Caucasus Institute at Johns Hopkins University (Washington, DC), French Institute of International Relations (Paris), Hudson Institute (Washington, DC), Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Berlin) etc.
Special emphasis will be on collaboration of expert teams in the areas of economics, international relations, energy security and environmental protection.
