Opening of Public Policy Institute in Belgrade

Public Policy Institute is officially opened today in Belgrade. One of the founders of the Institute, Stevan Lilić said that the office in Belgrade was opened to bring together people who have common goal to work for public good. Lilić said that one of the main objectives of the Public Policy Institute will be the promotion of public dialogue and constructive solutions in order to help the process of European integration of the Western Balkans.

"The Institute is not a political party, but brings together professionals, experienced and hard working people, most of whom have political experience," said Lilić.

President of the Executive Board of the Institute Mijat Damjanović expressed confidence that the Institute will work successfully and will try to connect major projects of the state, private sector and civil society.

Founder and director of the Public Policy Institute Vladimir Popović said to Tanjug that the Institute will never become a political party. It was founded with the aim to bring together experts of the region and be a link between the Western Balkan countries on the road towards the EU. He explained that the aim of the Institute is effective and efficient integration of the region into the Euro-Atlantic community.

Popović also announced that after Podgorica and Belgrade, the next step is opening of the offices in Ljubljana, Sarajevo, Zagreb and Skopje.
