Montenegrin producer, Sehad Čekić, has become the member of the European Film Academy (EFA) and thus joined this association of almost 2800 film professionals, gathered to promote European film heritage.
- Ten days ago I got an email that the Board of the European Film Academy proposed me to become their member. It’s a huge honour and opportunity for the promotion of Montenegro and its cinematography –Čekić said for Pobjeda, who recently participated at the programme “Producers on the Move” within the Cannes Film Festival.
Participation in Cannes, according to Čekić, at some way influenced the interest of the European Academy to have a Montenegrin producer as the member of their prestigious institution.
- New possibilities are opening for the networking of producers and other film artists. I will probably be offered to take part in voting for the best European film, as well as to participate to the ceremony of European Film Awards … Apart from this, there are numerous protocol, but also very serious programmes at which I will be able to participate – he said and added that the invitation for membership reflects positive attitudes of Europe with regard to Montenegrin cinematography.
