Round table “The implementation of Resolution 1325 of the Security Council of the UN – Women, peace and security in Montenegro”

The round table with presentation of the study “The implementation of Resolution 1325 of the Security Council of the UN – Women, peace and security in Montenegro” was held in Podgorica on 17th June in hotel Aurel. The study should provide detailed overview regarding the implementation of priorities of Resolution 1325 of the Security Council of the UN – Women, peace and security. The study aims to bring closer to the public position of woman in security sector, through cultural-historical review of Montenegrin woman, and the detailed overview of the state of reforms in security sector regarding R1325. In the second part of the study the analytical report has been presented. The report is based on answers of relevant representatives of five institutions from security sector: Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Police Directorate, Board of Customs and National Security Agency.

At the round table following representatives spoke: Ms. Radmila Šakonović, coordinator for gender equality at Ministry of Defense, Ms. Biljana Pejović, head of the department for Gender Equality Affairs, Ms. Selena Tasić, program manager of the Public Policy Institute and Ms. Marijana Zečević, Institute’s researcher.
