The exhibition “Word, Image, Enemy” is opened in Berane on 10th February 2014, after it was presented in Podgorica, Cetinje and Niksic. As it was said at opening ceremony, the exhibition pointed out the problem that strains our media scene for years. Vesna Novovic, the director of Cultural center Berane, has said that the exhibition “Word, Image, Enemy”, which has been causing stir for months, has shown the uniqueness which serves our inquisitiveness – whether the newspapers listen to and question their own words and their own echoes.
The executive secretary of the Media council for self-regulation Ranko Vujovic said that the assumption that media have responsibility towards public and public interest is rendered null and void when we observe what the press did to our country – shackling it into affairs, sensations, scandals, populism, political and economic racketeering.
As it was asserted on the opening in Berane, the exhibition “Word, Image, Enemy” should assist in returning journalism to its original idea, and journalist to the professionalism.
