The aim of the project is to develop the missing strategic documentation for library information activities - Strategies for the development of library information activities in the Republic of Serbia in the coming period. activities and development of this area. The target groups of the project are organizations and individuals who are professionally related to the field of library information activities in the management segment or through public administration participate in its development and management. The project will provide them with a basis for strategic management and a strategic approach to the development of library information activities in the Republic of Serbia, which is not possible at this time except on the basis of nitutive management that does not give optimal or efficient results. An important goal of the project is the dissemination of project results by the stakeholders of library information activities in order to use the strategic documents developed in the project in the period to which they relate in an optimal way and really contribute to the improvement of library information activities in the Republic of Serbia. |

The field of library information activities in Serbia employs thousands of people, in each municipality there is at least one, and in most municipalities a number of library institutions, and the resources invested in this system do not correspond to its output, primarily due to intuitive management and lack of strategic approach to management. The realization of project activities creates real conditions for significant improvement of this important system and realization of significant savings of public funds. Particularly large savings will be realized through the implementation of the project in the field of opportunity costs in the library information system of the Republic of Serbia because the strategic approach to management will enable focusing resources in the medium term on those areas that ensure efficient achievement of system goals. . |
