Project goals

Project will enable national authorities responsible for safe management of chemicals and wastes to adhere to the requirements of relevant international conventions and EU legislation. It will result in the established National Coordination Mechanism which will provide legal and practical arrangements for coordinated and synergistic approach to management of chemicals and wastes.

The project aims to build institutional capacities and strengthen synergies of Basel, Rotterdam, Stockholm and Minamata Convention at national level, while improving cooperation between government departments and agencies, industry sector (recycling in particular), and civil society organizations in the field of chemicals management.

Project will build its activities on the results of previously conducted projects in the area of chemicals and waste management, and be focused as well on vulnerable and marginalized groups specially related to awareness raising activities and more effective and systematic inclusion of those groups in waste management sector.
